What is Infant Massage
Infant massage is a gentle and nurturing practice that fosters bonding between caregivers and babies. The International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) combines ancient wisdom with modern knowledge, offering a simple routine developed by Vimala McClure in 1986. This practice, incorporating elements from Indian and Swedish massage, yoga, and reflexology, promotes relaxation, communication, and overall well-being for both baby and parent.
Benefits
Benefits for Baby: May help promote better sleeping patterns, relieve of colic and gas symptoms, aid in digestion, promotes development in movement and brain and promotes healthy bonding and attachment with parents/caregivers.
Benefits for Parent/Caregiver: Infant massage promotes a deeper connection with your baby, reduces stress, builds confidence in caring for your baby, it may reduce symptoms of postpartum depression and provides you with a moment of uninterrupted quality time with your baby.
